On the 2nd and 3rd of October, the Trinamool Congress will stage a dharna regarding the wage arrears of Delhi MNREGA workers. This dharna is being led by Abhishek Banerjee. Most of the leaders reached Delhi to participate in the dharna. While many leaders left for Delhi today, TMC leaders will protest in Delhi on 2nd and 3rd of October against the central government's alleged stoppage of funds for Bengal, for which most of the TMC leaders have reached Delhi On Sunday, a meeting of the leaders was held at the house of TMC MP Saugata Roy, while on the other hand, Abhishek Banerjee left for Delhi along with the families of three infants who died in the housing collapse in Bankura.
TMC leaders took off from Kolkata airport on Sunday. Dozens of leaders including Firhad Hakim, Arup Biswas, Babul Supriyo, and Indranil Sen left for Delhi.
On the other hand, in support of Trinamool, Aam Aadmi Party supporters took to the streets of Kolkata on Sunday and raised slogans against the Central Government and demanded payment of dues of Bengal.
TMC is reportedly protesting against the withholding of funds for MNREGA and other schemes by Narendra Modi's government. Thousands of party workers are being brought from Kolkata to Delhi via buses to take part in the demonstration. There was a plan to bring TMC workers to Delhi by train in this demonstration led by Abhishek Banerjee, but the Railways told that seats were unavailable.
After this, TMC workers are coming to Delhi by traveling a distance of 1500 kilometers by bus. There will be a peaceful protest by TMC MPs and state ministers at Rajghat on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on October 2 in Delhi. The next day on October 3, a peaceful rally of MNREGA job card holders will be organized. Both programs will be broadcast live through the Internet. Both the programs are also going to be telecast in 3300 Panchayats of the state.
